Over the past 100 years Baseball has been a valuable part of the American culture and has
been documented in many ways to reflect upon and preserve the history of the game. In 2006
Phil Weidner invented a new format of baseball called Xtreme Baseball (now called Double
Diamond Baseball) The new format has been utilized over the past five years in a semi pro
baseball league called the National Xtreme baseball League (NXBL) which Weidner also
founded and operates. The NXBL now wants to step up it efforts in documenting the history
of the game/league by producing a series of documentary films. The first film of the
series is projected to be a one hour documentary film that reflects upon the first five
years of the leagues progress (pros and cons). The documentary will contain film footage
of professional and home recorded video of past games, interviews with players, coaches
and team owners and an in depth look at the business side of the NXBL, behind the scenes
of league/team operations, personnel reflections from Weidner and from others who are
directly involved in the leagues operations including interpretations of psychological
behavior behind baseball fans, players, coaches, sports writers and team owners etc.
